^agreed - a lot of people tune into the fact that lighter driveline components allow for faster revving (and that sensation of faster revving = more power) but a lot of people don't realize that RPMs drop faster as well so clutchwork must be adjusted accordingly.

You also have to get used to the car not running at the same rpms. I was able to cruise at a bit above 2000rpm in 5th with the car not shuddering.

After a lightened flywheel she had to be kept at 2500rpm to keep her going.

I am doing a 5 speed swap on my s14 do any of you guys with al driveshafts suffer from the same item?

Thanks for the information. I didn't realize that I might have to keep the car at higher RPMs if I used an aluminum drive shaft, never really crossed my mind. Thats why I asked the question to find out things like this, that I would never really have thought about till I put the thing on and started driving around.

haha yeah I am sorry if it sounded like I said that drag racing was not challenging or didn't involve any skill, it was not my intention. I really have no experience at the drag strip so I can't be looked at as an authority on that subject, I have really only gone twice as a driver and a couple other times with my friends just as a spectator. Like I said its not really my thing.

Stan, I don't have that problem with my car at all. You can always take her for a ride to see. Or maybe Igot used to it.

Watashi, Any performance mods will change the way ur car drives. Some will make it easier, some can make it a lil harder. Any xtra clutch work needed to learn you will probably learn w/o even knowing ur learning. It's basically adjusting to the difference. I've driven Stan's old S13 and he had a performance clutch on it and it was hard for me to frive it at 1st, but coming to the end of my test drive i got used to it. So dont sweat it too much.Have fun. Good luck!!!
