sequential gearbox

did some looking around, found some *** kick 5 and 6 speed sequentials for our cars... I dont have the links offhand, but I think GReddy makes one, and Holinger. anyone ever use a sequential? they are $$$$$ but I think it'd be fun if I had the 12 grand to put one in.

do they have reverse?

they have reverse. you usually push the shifter to the side then up... or was it down? pretty sure it was up. sequential ain't no cheap thing. maybe you might get lucky and you can rip out a transmission from a ferrari thats just so happens to be in a junkyard. lol

oh yeah. theres these thinks you put on top of the "H" and it makes it a "sequential like" transmission. closest we would ever get i guess.

the ferrari sequentials are computer controlled I think... you have to have the paddles on the wheel to work them too. and those link things are like 1200 bucks and they look kinda cheap to me

I will have a sequential one day! and it will be good!

the ones I've seen dont have side to side movement, just straight forward and back, and it returns to the center after each 'click' so I think reverse would be one click down from neutral or 0 gear?

that one from importfan isnt a true sequential gearbox though... it just goes onto a standard tranny, and gives you the I patter

I'm talking the whole piece, full sequential transmission

going clicky click when I shift gears. mmmmm.

well i dont really know that much about manual trannys but i know that u can make auto trannys bullet prof and throw a lot of torque at u.. torque converters and what not etc.. but i was woundering wouldn't it be the same as a sequential gear box if u upgrade your tranny and crap and just buy a sequential shifter???
