AFter driving on the turnpike for about an hr going 85 steady i come to the toll and pull it out of gear, but my clutch has sooooooooooooooooooo much free play its not even engaging to shift gears

I pull over...shut the car off and restarted, kept pumping the clutch and as I do it the freeplay slowly gets shorter....just barely so i can shift gears. I have to do this everytime i come to a complete stop.

I am guessing my clutch master cylinder has a air leak or fluid leak?

Or is that the clutch on its way out, or tranny.

a clutch slips on it's way out., look under the dash at the clutch pedal and see if it's dripping fluid in. from the firewall.

 

you most likley have a leak.i dont think your clutch is goin out b/c you pump it and it comes back to life, well sorta.tranny i really doubt it although mine never went out so wouldnt know for sure.
