Weird Clutch problem

Hello Everyone new here...

Problem is.....clutch is in good condition we checked it very recently when the engine was out. But now the clutch pedal is bitting close to the top of the pedal and the clutch is slipping. This of course points to a goosed slutch but how can this be after only a few weeks with me driving it very little

You check your slave cylinder and fluid?

We thought of the slave cylinder but its not putting any undue presure on the clutch paddel when not being used. Could a faulty slave make the clutch slip if it was faulty?

I don't think it will do the latter. What kind of clutch did you install?

Well we did not actually install a new clutch. When we had the engine out we took the gearbox off and checked the clutch then. It was fine looked nearly new, the lad who had the car before me must have replaced it just before selling it to me...

its you pedal it sounds like. my ka had a new clutch installed and it would slip when it got warm since the fluid would get hot and expand slightly. this prevented the pedal from disengaging all the way causing it to slip. in my case it was good becasue i picked the car up for cheap becasue he thought it had clutch problems. email me if you need to know how to adjust it. juztinvez@yahoo.com

Right so why did this happen to yours...pedal not adjusted after new clutch ?

But my pedal just went like that nearly over night. We had just put a new subframe on (without touching clutch) the only thing was the car was tilted so maybe oil has got past them oil seal onto clutch, even this can not reall explain the pedal being high

mine was the same. after a new clutch it worked fine. until I drove 20 miles and the fluid would heat up and had nowhere to expand except back against the slave cylinder causing the clutch to partially disengage resulting in the slippage. http://www.store.yahoo.com/phase2mot...wtoadclpe.html
