240 Dreams
I bought an issue of Import tuner in which their cover car was a 1990 240SX. I fell in love instantly
!!!!! I am now looking into getting a 1992 240SX Convertible with 169K on it. Is it worth trading my current car, 1996 Plymouth Neon on 17s, for it? The only thing is it is an automatic
! But what I was thinking is drive it until the engine blows and put in an SR20DET or RB20DET with a manual transmission in and do a Manual conversion on the car (I live in Indiana and emissions is not a problem). Would this be a good idea and how much would it cost (est.)? Thanks!

moved to engine swaps
Sounds like a good idea...here is a lil info though, all convert 240s are auto. If ya got the money and time to do the swap when the engine blows, go for it man. It will be costing you froma bout 1500-2500 for the RB20 and 2500-3200 for the S13 SR20.

its not all about the money, it can EASILY be done. I did it myself actually. If you get a SR or RB and get a front clip, u will have pretty much everything. Youw ill have to buy a manual driveshaft, pressure line and thats pretty much it cus the clip will have almost everything. You might have to buy a clutch master cylinder. Go to the FAQ section and u will find a how to
I got my 93 5 speed swap for $200, add $50 to resurface the flywheel and another 40 for Redline tranny fluid, and $100 for a new clutch, brings us to a total of just under $400 with new clutch and best tranny fluid out there and a freshly resurfaced flywheel, ain't too bad.
And don't ever ask if selling a neon is worth a 240sx. . 240's have this cool thing called suspension, and rear wheel drive, weeeeeeeeeee.
