Anyone With A Ca18det Swap Read!

I have searched and searched and there is no real concrete good or bad on this swap. so i have a few questions:

Was it easy? I have swaped Honda before. Will it be equivilent to a b18 in a EG?(if you know what i am talking about )

How much was the swap? and who did you get it from? I don't wanna get ripped off on the price.

What is the redline on a stock ECU?

What kind of HP can you push on the ca18det? I have heard the you can't get much past 300 with replacing the headgasket and possibly even head bolts.

What kind of MAF do i need to use?

You mean InterPOO?! I don't want to talk to anyone there. They tried to screw mw on a spoiler for my EP, and i personally am scared to let them even touch either one of my cars.

I know a couple of guys here that have done the swap, pretty straight up from what I understand. Don't really know about the wiring or what MAF you should run though

My friend and i did the swap. Its pretty simple, just make sure u get everything u need before hand and maybe an extra coilpack incase one is bad. The wiring is harder then the actual mechanical.
Stock redline is about 7K, i dont remember exactly cause i only ran the stock ecu for break in. I have an ND stage1 chiped ecu. Got the chip from Ebay, verygood(alittle expensive). Tell them what rev limit u want and what u r running ie turbo, maf, injectors and they tune it for u. I have mine at 7,200 . He was goin to do 7,500 but i wanted it alittle lower for drifting purposes.

I dont know anyone in Tx to get the engine from. When i get my BOV this weekend and run better intercooler piping(im using muffler shop right now) I figure ill be at about 200 to the wheels. Gonna take it to the dyno soon.

* IF u got a question just PM me or check out ********.com they have alot of ca owners there.

Also the easiest is if u get the ca18det maf, but alot of ppl say that u can use the SOHC KA maf by just switching the wires.

Also if u get the ecu tuned, then u can use what ever nissan maf u want(ie 300zx)

Anyone who get's a CA18 pull your pan and retorque/locktite the rod bolts. They are suseptable to coming loose and causing a rod knock-eventually the rod cap will just fall off

Yes I have had one warranty return of a CA that a rod cap came loose, and we had another one way back when we were just getting loose engines that had the same problem. The CA rips though otherwise there's one in town that pulls right with the SR swaps.

well it is good to hear that they can pull with SR swaps. How much can you get a ca18det swap for rkcarguy? shipped to TX?
