Being a Supra owner I can clear up a few things. The car weighs 3485 lbs. The 2JZGTE does not have vvti... the 97-98 N/A Supras had vvti but that is the 2JZGE. The motor isn't 280 hp, it is 320 and 315 lbs of torque. 0-60 time is 4.6 seconds and the 1/4 mile is 13.2 in stock trim. The car has 53/47 weight distribution and handles .98 G's on the skid pad. Supras do have problems, powerband isn't really one of them when you are racing. The 315 lbs of torque are at 4000 rpm's but most is made around 2000. During a race the Rpm's are high anyways. Weight is a problem and there are more than a few 900 horsepower supras running 10's or even 11's but there are 800-900 horsepower supras in the high 8's without nitrous. Supras need very very soft suspension in the rear and very good slicks to get good ET's. 9 second supras are very very abundant, and most are driven to the track with the A/C on to. But I'm not here to talk about supras. I'm a 240sx owner also, but I like to clear up any misconceptions. Any 900 horsepower car is going to be hard to drive. 900 horsepower supras still lose traction in 6th gear. And the automatics are faster, a stock auto with a higher torque converter can run 12's.

The RB26DETT is expensive, but pick up a RB25 and you'll be alot better off than buying a 2JZ. 2JZ's are very rare to get in 5sp or 6sp, and I don't even want to know what went into wiring this thing if it wasn't a stand alone.

The lighter the car the easier it is to hook up more power.....I have a little "toy" I will have to post some pics of it. It's a gutted 63 MG Midget with a 12A Mazda Rotary in it. It's 1230lbs and about 140HP. In the RX-7 it came from it spun the wheels in 1st and 2nd and a little in 3rd. In this car it's all to the ground with crotch rocket acceleration.

Thank you for clearing that up. I think alot of it has to do with it being a IRS, because you don't get the best traction. Now if it was a solid axle I think it would definatly get into the 8's easy. ANd again the problem with 900hp supras is traction and suspension.
