Differences between Blacktops/Redtops

hey guys, im new here and to the 240/sr20det swaps. if this has been answered before, im sorry i missed it i looked but couldnt find. I was just wondering, can someone please tell me what the differences are between the s13 blacktop and redtop, and the s14 blacktop? (if there is an s14 redtop, that one too please)
ive read that the redtop is better, not sure why though. thanks in advance guys.

s13 redtop- least base hp. takes to bolt ons the best hands down.

s13 black top- slightly more base hp. doesn't take to bolt ons like the red top.

s14 black top- not quite sure.
there is no s14 redtop.

thanks for clearing it up a bit. also, is it too hard for a regular shmoe like me and my older bro to swap and do all the wiring? would it be better to let a pro do it? phase 2 charges 75 dollars an hour +350 for wiring, thats a little out of my reach.

If you don't think you can handle $350 then what about the other parts you should get when you do an SR swap i.e. new clutch, upgrade radiator, water pump, IC of some kind (unless you get an OEM sidemount with the engine), downpipe, etc.?

Please keep in mind that although it is a relatively easy swap, you'll need more than just the engine and the wiring done

I have a redtop. I'm even willing to sell it to you for like 2,000 shipped which is a pretty good price. You'll just have to ignore that fact that on the side of the engine it's labeled clearly as a KA24DE. But don't worry I assure you I used the finest pep boys red spray paint. I'll even include the reciept with your purchase.

Okay by this time I hope your realize it was a joke...
If not feel free to pm me to get info for my paypal account.

This question is an ongoing topic and is found very easily. Your not going to get any help unless you have a valid argument or really valuable info no one has heard of. I think people just hate repeating themselves. Trust me. Search and Ye shall find.

this is NOT correct information.

S13 Redtop and S13 Blacktop make the EXACT same power, and respond to boltons EXACALLY the same because they are basically exacally the same other than minor things that have nothing to do with hp increases.

the S14 Blacktop makes more hp than a S13 Redtop/Blacktop and has VVI
