ka problems
ka problems
if anyone could help me out it would be great.
heres the beef, i have a 92 hatch with a 95 and up ka in it. it was runnin fine for about 1700 miles then it started acting like it had a bad injector and having already replaced two i got two new ones so now its got four new injectors. and still feels out of tune, i used to have an altima and the cat got clogged ( couldnt get the car past 20 mph's) so i know its not that. i changed cap, rotor, wires, up front fuel filter, and plugs. i didnt want to spend the 6oo on a new distributor if i didnt need one. so i asked around and now my cars at the best mech shop in town ( i hate mechanics some reason i cant trust them) since they got the money tools that i dont have and he cant tell me anything i dont already know.
the car also will go in and out of running perfect and horrrrrrible...
any help please....

alrite rite before i switched my engine out one of my injectors went and just the one caused the whole engine to shake causing my car to shake i thought i was in a big rig. anyways after 4 new injectors the problem lessened* and or was the same but would change while i was driving (if i drove it with just the rite touch it would work fine but only for so long, then it would sputter like i had a bad injector then it would pull hard again like nothing was wrong. and this would go on the whole time i was driving).. and once in a while i could drive almost 6 miles and not have a problem.. i cant really tell you the exact extent of it since i only got to drive it 1700 miles and had clutch issues for a 1000 of them. also to discribe the sound of my car i would say it honestly sounded like a subaru that was in bad shape..... one time i switched spark plugs and it worked really well id say 50 miles and slowly back to ****. the first injector to go was the number 2 injector and this was on my old ka, and this is still the one that is giving me problems????????????????
word on the street from some white trash ferrari owners say when you get a remanu engine you need a new distributor. but im not to sure, if any one can put some fact to this please do.
plus thats a 600 dollar part thats a half year of insurance
i brought it to the mechanic and hes like it was working fine for us,
and it was for a half mile then it started again, so i went back and he said "thats how it runs". im not cse certified but i know a good deal about fixing cars having taking apart the previous ka, and i know **** can get fixed(unless it blew up). well its now been down there for a month about and he still cant tell me anything......i think its misfiring but i dont have the tools to tell. and you cant adjust the timing chain to much if at all. could the engine internals be causing this? or does this sound of the electical sort? or maybe fuel? crack in a hose somewhere?
any help or tell me to tell you more the more and more upset i get the more i remember thanks for reading and tryin to help

ITS YOUR INJECTOR CONNECTORS!!! CHANGE ALL OF THEM! they're pretty cheap, only lyk 40 total. but yea, that is the answer to ur problem. my car used to run lyk that til i changed the connectors and then it ran super good after.
here is my 2 cents:
from what you say imo it could only be fuel, spark or timing. now since you have replaced your fuel filter and injectors that pretty much only leave spark and timing i would check your plugs but im sure there fine and you already have since you have replaced your wires. Then you said somthing about a Rebuilt engine? are you sure the timing isn't off? I mean when you start it up does it hesitate to stay funning and or the motor have a lot of movment at idle? It's hard to say without acually seeing the car i'm shooting from the hip but i thought i would at least try and help.

the mechanic says that its missfiring.... like i said one min it runs good and the next like garbage, but mostly garbage( yet he knows not how to fix the problem).. how do you adjust the timing on a chain. take the whole top and front covers off and advance of devance* a tooth on the sproket.
the car was running perfect until one day, and on that day this all began. first slightly then aggressive. i dont understand this at all..
but yes the engine shakes at idle the only time it doesnt shake is when im driving but then the only reason its not is cuz the rpms are increased.
the car does not stall thou, but once it almost did. i watched a battle on the rpm gauge.

the only reason i put this in the swapped section is because i would of thought some one might be able to help me with the distributor problem
also i thought toycar might of been on to something seeing that my cars always stump mechanics far and wide. and ive never heard of the problem
