KA24DE in 89 240?

I had a 91 240SX Hicas and I was wondering how much work it would be to take my drivetrain and put it in an older 89 240? Has this been done before, and does someone have notes?

It should all bolt up assuming both have or don't have abs. Because the abs equipped cars have a drive shaft about an inch shorter to make room for the sensor.

My 91 had ABS, my 89 I just bought doesn't. Can't I just use the driveshaft from the 89?

Yeah, if you use the '89's differential.

Will the 89 diff work with the rest of the rear hicas suspension and subframe? I know that sounds stupid but I already sold my 91 rear end thinking I wasn't going to use it.

The diff shouldn't be a problem. Should of kept that LSD though.

Uhh. yeah I know, I'm kicking myself for that one. Another question though. Since my car was a Hicas can I swap any of that stuff in my rear sudframe as well?

You should be able to swap anything you want over. I bet you could put your HICAS system in if you swapped over all your lines.

The diffs are the same except for the open or limited slip action.
