lil wiring help

Just got a 95 240sx with the redtop engine in. It has the intercooler, electric fan, jdm ecu, jdm wiring harness, etc. The car used to run extremely rich, so rich that the car chokes, and the engine oil is black(friend told me he changed it not to long ago). Now another mechanic looked at it and now it doesnt run at all, some wiring somewhere is loose and u gotta play with it to start it. My question is, why is it so rich? another one is, I have to send out the wiring harness's correct? Who should I send it to, or can I do it myself? The wiring is sticking out of the window, I gotta bring it in, I know it got wet, can I use a electric wire drying solution on it and it will work or no? Thanks everyone

Yeah i would have the wiring looked at. I had the same problem with my swap and the ignition. But mine is a 92 240. Found that i had the 02 sensor hooked up to the wrong 12V switched source and it was getting back feed. Caused all kinds of weird ****. But the thing with the car running rich and turning the oil black. I had this similar problem in my honda. but my problem was that my rings never fully sealed after i had the motor work done. but i was also running 18 psi. daily driven. might want to do a compression test.

Most people have issues with their motors when they dont follow proper breakin procedure to allow everything to seat and seal right.

Not saying you did this, just want to let people know that there is a proper procedure for doing this.

Jonpowell, I tried the link for srswap.com and it doesn't work , is there a number that I Can call?

Twan, last the I saw the car ruuning, the engine sounded pretty good and my friend said that the engine had boost and everything. I am thinking definitely the sensor and wiring.

Thanks guys for the quick responses.

lower price=lower quality....if you are having problems and want this to run right don't cheap out now.

$250 for the wiring service is an AWESOME price. Check out the prices for wiring at www.mckinneymotorsports.com then try complaining about Jeff's prices on wiring.

Not knocking McKinney, just saying that there are alot of people out there charging WAY more for the same job.
