Motors?

Im not sure if this was already brought up Im fairly new to these forums and I am planning to get a 240 soon. As far as the motor is concerned is it better to go with the SR20 or keep the KA. I have read up and I get a lot of specs which make sense but I would like to hear it from people who have actually done this swap or kept the KA. If this was already posted sumone please send me the link or something to read this. Thanks for your opinions.
.Shawn.

This has been a largely debated issue. The thing is in my opinion, that to have a good running Turbo car the SR is the way to go because you a factory ECU and everything is setup to run with boost. Being the KA was a truck designed engine the SR also makes your 240 feel like an actual sports car. If you are happy with the KA then leave it at that, but if you want more you'll be better off with a SR swap. The SOHC is a turd at least run a DOHC if you are going KA.

I read something about the head on the KA being Iron and the SR is Titanium or something. I realize the Iron is stronger but in the lonf run does it really make a difference. Also I have a friend that had a 90 240sx with over 350thousand miles on it and it was rebuilt at 150,000 will the SR last as long as that because I plan on my car being a Daily Driver.

The KA is cast iron the SR is aluminum and turbo. Of course the SR won't last as long, the turbo just works things a little more. Something else you might want to consider is a SR20DE non turbo. I'm a vendor, and we have a couple coming in soon. They run a long time, and are more efficient with better cams than the KA.

I think about 160 HP stock same as the KA, but you get a aluminum block and better power delivery. These go for about $1300 for an entire clip.
