mystery hose on srclip

ok i got my sr clip and i was cleaning all the grime getting ready to pull the engine to do the swap when i noticed something conspicously missing...but im not sure what...there's a hose that leads toward where the air filter would sit but it just ends with a hose clamp and it looks like it attached to something attached to the front left shock tower but that part has been unbolted...any one know what it could be? the hose comes off somesort of solenoid assy bolted to the left side of valve cover...thank

Hi, the stock airbox had a fitting for this, it was some sort of crankcase recirculation setup. Most of the swaps I've seen that have aftermarket filters don't have the fitting. Some just leave it open and hanging, but I'd put some kind of little filter in it, a chunk of air cleaner foam, or something. Won't upset anything the engine won't know it's not hooked up.

It might be, but the EGR has to die the metal tube from the downpipe won't clear the steering shaft. I guess it's like EGR is draws the gases and stuff from the crankcase and feeds them into the intake instead of just venting them.
