Hello everybody, I have a few questions that I like to ask you expert here. I want a 91 240sx hatch and I want to do a engine swap on it. The engine I have in mind is the sr20det. If anybody know any better engine for this swap plese tell me and explain why. Anyway my question is what do I need for this swap? Is the engine mount the same? When I do get this swap, my main concern is if this motor ever fail, which it will, can I buy part in the US to fix it or do I need parts from Japan? I'm not talking about blowing a piston or head but thing like a bad starter, alternater, fan belt and such. Is there another engine in the US that carry the same part for this car? Now if I do blow a head or piston than I definitly need parts from Japan right!

 

0k ill try to help ya out. For other engine swaps, search around the engine swap section to check out other engines that u might be interested in. But one that is a good engine is the CA18DET. Its SUPER cheap, and there are many parts for it in the US because it used to come in the pulsar. Anyways, for the SR20 its basically a drop in swap, engine mounts are the same. There are sum companys that carry OEM SR parts and aftermarket parts for the SR, so it isnt hard at all to get most parts. i think thats pretty much it..

Best site for what you are wanting to do viper person. Underground-Motorsports.com They can get you any of these parts you need. The sr is a very easy conersion, since it is a simple drop in. If you want to go hardcore with the conversion, try the rb25det out of the r33. This is a radical swap, but it most definetly works, and if you have lots of money and want to go really extreme, the rb26dett converted to rear wheel drive and single turbo. Anyways, check the above website, they have it all. Installs too!
