The cyclone is the older engine from the early 90's and is found in a lot of 1g eclipses, plymoth lasers, and the eagle talons. Before I started looking at nissan's, I had plans for making a project eclipse with all sorts of performance products. Now I was drawn torward nissan, because of the well balanced s13-s15's cars and the all mighty rb engines from skyline.
cyclone motor never came an american car. it is a jdm galant vr4 motor

V-Tech is a brand of cordless phone. VTEC is what you find on a Honda.

Dick, do you drift anywhere other than around street corners and parking lots? Didn't think so. 240SX=drift? Apparently, this is true. If you want to knock on a fast Honda, I know a Prelude that put down 541 horsepower at the wheels. I'm guessing you're drawn to Nissans because it's the latest trend. If you were on the Honda trend, you'd say the S13 is slow, old and ugly. Nuff said.

Going back to the first post before everyone got their panties all up in a bunch about Honda engines...

... original 95 KA with less than 70k miles? Are you serious??!?!?

...and since I am who I am - Honda's need "block guards" and wheelie bars on a car that's FWD and won't ever do a "wheelie". 240SX U.S. version is more desireable with an engine swap...

...but hell Hon-duh camp does that ALL THE TIME LOL

Block guards are there for when the engine whacks the eye-watering 12,000rpm limiter. The wheelie bars are actually there to hold the front wheels down. Ed Bergenholtz, the first person to break the 10s in a Civic, got laughed at for having a wheelie bar when he did a burnout. The laughing stopped when he ran the time he did.

On the other hand, I was told by a Hon-duh person that a spoiler helps hold the rear down with downforce, and that he'd be getting a wheelie bar soon. For the street.

I dunno... to me, wheelie bars were put on RWDs to keep them from flipping over from too much power - they weren't designed from the beginning to "hold the front wheels down". The first time my dad took me to the NHRA WinterNats in Pomona when I was a kid one of the mechanics explained to me what those "weird bars were for" and thus it is embedded in my head.

Now you put those on a FWD, and you're cheesing it in a sense that you're extending the cars length to counter the natural weight transfer from front to rear when a drag car launches. Add to that the fact that most RWDs with wheelie bars do not actually have the wheelie bar touching the ground at rest like the FWDs do. The only cars I respect on the drag track in the FWD categories are the ones who can do it without resulting in the usual "Honduh Trickery" LOL

Of course this is all elementary - just like the reason why Mr.Ed got laughed at in the first place: wheelie bars serve their intended purpose on a RWD car, not a FWD grocery getter
