Odometer

Just wondering..... i have never swapped out an engine before and was wondering if it is legal/possible to put in the guage cluster and odometer from the swapped out engine?...... im assuming not but just wanted to be sure

so..... as far as selling it or getting a loan goes....... don't do it if i ever plan to sell it?....... I think its bs that when you put in a new engine, theres no way to prove it doesnt have miles on it..... 180k on the car i wan't to get ( 96 240 se ( should i ).... anyway thx and whats ur opinion on the car?...... 96 240sx SE, incredible condition, but 180k miles..... $5500- 5750

too much, talk him down to 4500, 180K is a crapload of miles. Just negotiate and nitpick with him. How often was the oil changed? Does he have records? When was the last time the clutch was replaced? LSD maintained? How much tread left on the tires? Spark plugs replaced? These are all issues that will need to be addressed on a car with 180K miles on it if they haven't already been taken care of.
