oil filter wrench?

Also, before you put the new filter on, apply a small amount of oil to the gasket/seal to help keep it from seizing next time.

I was talking more about an adaptor rather than the wrench. I have 3 different ones, and cant use any of them too small of an area. Alternator is there and then the engine mount. I was wondering more of an adaptor where you can stick in a 3/8" driver to. Some toyotas had that tool for oil filter removal. I was wondering the sr20 had one too. or something from another car that would work,

you can also get a "socket" that goes over the end of the filter and you put a ratchet into it to remove the filter, OR filter relocator.

What?
You installed the motor without changing the oil filter?

This is what happens when you dont service them properly OUT of the vehicle.

yea that sucker is out now. Took the alternator off. Took some time but its replaced now. Good thing now the K&N filter in there now has a nut to put in a socket into. Makes changing oil easier.

Are you guys serious? They sell oil filter sockets for $4.00 at most autoparts stores that will get it off. Just never get those Fram filters with the sure grips. I've only trusted OEM oil filters for nissans.

i like this K&N i used it for my S2000, and started using it on the evo. Atleast in the S2000 the oem one wasnt the best. And K&N worked best. So I switched to it with all the cars.

As far as the adaptor goes, my 2 advanced autoparts didn't have them and pepboys or advanced autoparts are 30 mins away from me. too lazy to drive there, and rather played around with the alternator.

How did you confirm that it worked best?? Did you cut the filter open or look at any filtration comparison?

actualy with the s2ks the original filter didnt flow well and restricted oil at hard turns. the K&Ns were one of the few filters that prevented that. Im not saying the OEM nissan filter dosent flow well, but I Trust the filtration and flow of the K&N. Especialy when I am going to be drifting I would want the oil flowing trouble free.
