RB20DET Tuning-Boost Cut?
I've been having a problem with power dropping in the high end, so I gapped the plugs narrower and backed down the timing a little. Seemed to help but still have the problem. I read in one of the Austrialian sites that the RB20 has a 12 PSI boost cut. Is this true on the R32's? I'm running about .8 Bar of boost which tranlates to approx 11.7 #'s of boost. If it has a boost cut this is probably my problem. I'm running a Nismo 044 series upgrade pump and brand new 300Z filter, so I don't see fuel being a problem unless the injectors are maxxed. I'm not getting any detonation the plugs don't show any signs of it but are very clean. Any ideas let me know-maybe the T3/T4 was a little too big for the stock setup and I need to give it another cash injection.

What exactly is it doing is it poping and shooting flames out of the tail pipe. If so you've probably hit fuel cut. I'm not to sure what boost cut is, Do you have a nice piggy back fuel system and what boost controller are you running? Explain what all the car is doing please and I might can help some.

I'm stock fuel system right now except a Nismo pump, I'm using the stock wastegate actuator and it creeps up a little to around 12PSI. I doesn't pop or anything just the power falls off. Plugs are CLEAN but don't show any signs of detonation. I just borrowed a exhaust gas analyzer I'll see what the problem is shortly.

Looks like I am lean-quite a bit lean. The ECU does a good job at retarding the timing to prevent detonation tho. Evidentally out of the it's range of fuel enrichment-I was told the ECU's usually only cycle the injectors at a max 70% of their capacity. SAFC-2 is already here so it's install and tuning time. Hopefully get the 300HP I'm after before I max out the stock FI's.
