Q about an engine swap

Although I'm only 14, I already have plans for my car. I want to know all the details ahead of time, so i will get the best out of my first car.

Is it possible to do an sr20det swap for a 91-93 240sx, w/o fabrication?

I love the website http://www.srswap.com and i wanted to know what advantages the S14 engine has over the S13. Also there are 2 products in the intercooler section of the website. One is

Blitz LM Front Mount Intercooler Kit for S13 SR20DET

-and the other-

Blitz LM Front Mount Intercooler Kit for S14 SR20DET.

If you were to swap an S14 sr20det into a 91-93 240sx (which i believe in based on the S13 chassis) which intercoller would you use?

There's no real fabrication involved in dropping an S13 or S14 SR20DET into an S13.

You would order the intercooler acording to the chassis the motor is installed in. If you put the motor in an S13, you want the S13 intercooler kit.

Now file this information where you can find it in 2 years.

S14 = T28 Ball bearing turbo, Varible Timing Control, and a low port head.

S13 = T25 Journal bearing turbo, no VTC, and a high port head.

BTW you can't use an S13 intercooler with an S14 engine. The piping won't line up.

Really? I thought the throttle bodies were in the same place for both the S13 and S14 motors?

... then again I unfortunately own neither.

No, you HAVE to get the S13 intercooler kit, specifically the 180sx kit. The Blitz kits are generic for all S13's, but if you go with another company they may make a bigger intercooler for the S13 Silvia due to more room thanks to no pop up headlights. Anyway if you have an S14 motor you'll just have to get custom piping. Might be cheaper to just buy a core and have a shop make all your pipes rather than buying a kit and throwing them out.
