Swap looks good man, hows that T3/T4 working out? Whats the lag with it? We were thinking of running one with a T3 Super 60 .63 AR and see how that does.

I like the T3/T4 I have, it's a little laggy but for my HP goals it was the one I had to use. If I was going to do it again for a daily driver I'd go with the super 60 T3 hands down. I got my Hybrid Turbo from www.cheapturbo.com for $600 shipped. I've had no trouble with it, and the quality of the parts used in it is awesome. It's a T3/T4, 63A/R exhaust, 57 Trim Compressor.

Irov7, I have the Apex-i AFC-2 which has a mode for changing the AFM. Where you set the ratio you simply change it to "300ZX" and you're done. A JWT ECU will probably come eventually they have a crazy stage 3 tune that can hold 520HP at the flywheel around 28PSI! It's also $600 going to have to save awhile for that one. I'm not in a hurry for it because the cars that use AFM's will actually tune themselves after you adjust everything with a AFC so they are more driveable compared to the hondas people turbo with VAFC's and 450's.

I never even realized that about an AFC. WOW, I feel like an A$$. I should know that. Does the SAFC 1 have that function also? if it doesnt that might be why I dont remember ever using it on cars in the shop. I thought it would mess with the ECU if you threw it on there and tried to run the car, I didnt even think about the AFC

I'm not sure, I had a VAFC on my Turbo Civic before I got a real car, and it wasn't a AFM car so I'm not sure. I think it's only avail in the SAFC-2. You don't need the VTEC one so they aren't too bad. Got mine for $260 shipped. I'm going to keep it even when I have the new computer and just put all the settings to zero so I can fine tune.

Do you have any RB20s 'laying' around, and if so how much.

Got one on ebay right now under rkcarguy. It's a whole front clip. Wish I could get more I got 2 I had requested 6. The R32 became eligible for export to countries with 15 year exemptions so they are getting harder to find.

I'm liking this RB20DET into 240SX swap more and more.... This thread is really filled with information. I'm really wanting to take on such a project for my coupe I've been reading every bit of this and like what I see.... I do have a couple of things to work out, though.

Despite everything I hear, I'm pretty picky about my engines. I'd like to save some hassle and rebuild the engine from the ground up, and replace all the gaskets, the water pump, coilpacks, et al. This'd be my first engine swap, so I'm wondering if rebuilding it and doing all the work myself from the get-go is ideal for a first-timer like myself.

Also, could I work with a motorset and round up things as I need them? It's a bit easier to keep a engine-set around than a full front-cut, especially since I don't know how to dispose of the leftovers....

can you offer any opinions on these things??

Typically you will get the engine/trans, ECU, and other parts, but the uncut harness and crossmember are always in deficit and hard/impossible to get. I'd go 1/2 cut there are too many things you need to piece it together, it will probably cost you more money and time/frustration in the long run. Everything you need can be dropped out of the 1/2 cut in about 5 hours, then you take the shell to a recycle yard, show them the wheel is on the wrong side(no title needed) and it's history. I wouldn't bother with rebuilding most good clips have around 60,000 miles on them. Freshen them up with a timing belt, water pump, thermostat, and maybe a headgasket if you are going to really push it hard, then throw it in and go.

How much can one expect to get a front-cut with a RB20DET (A31 or R32)?

My last one sold yesterday for $2350+ Tax, it was a R32 RB20DET 5sp clip with some extra greddy guages. Some places sell them cheap like $1500 but beware of poor quality.

Hm... What about shipping? I'm pricing places for my RB swap. I was going to go for a SR, but I don't like the low torque.... I'm also a fan of RBs and the Skyline^_^
