Question rb20 vs sr20 which is better?

Hello everyone, i'm new on here. I've been planning on getting a sr motor but the other day I saw a 240 with the rb20. The guy claims you can get a lot more power out of the rb. Is this true? Untill a couple days ago I didn't even know of the rb20. Sure i'd heard of rb25 or 26, but a 2.0 liter inline six seems tiny. Pistons must be the size of my big toe. Wouldn't it be better and cheaper just to get a four banger that ways less and swaps directly?

Well first of all u kan get a RB20 for around the price of a S13 SR20, if not cheaper. And the RB20 kan hold more power than a SR20 on stock internals because that thing is basically bulletproof. i bought my RB20 not to long ago, ganna do the swap in about a month.

1. does the rb motor weigh more?
2. what turbo does it come with?
3. how reliable is it ? I have heard of a lot of inline six motors loosing compression.(such as the supra)
4. How easy is the swap? as easy as the sr20?

I don't completely buy into the RB being able to hold more on a stock bottom end. All I can find on the RB is a number of around 400 hp - 500 hp...correct me if I'm wrong on that though, cause Phase2 is running those numbers on an SR w/ stock bottom end.

Hmm, well ive done sum searching and the RB20 and SR20 kan roughly hold 400-500 on stock bottom end. But in the long run RB kan hold more HP then the SR. Also so ive heard u get better gains with moddifying a RB.

Also the RB weighs more then the SR, dont know by how much exactly. And the swap isnt all that complicated, just make sure u know wut ur doing.

does the swap require cutting in the engine bay?
Does it come with the t25 t28 or t3 and what trim?
sorry for all the repetitive questions but I'm kinda begining to change my mind on what motor to get

make sure you ask yourself what you plan on doing with the car. What is the final out come that you want? Do you want to drift? Road race? street race? Drag race? The RB might be better for drag racing, street racing and do fine on the circuit. But the power band of the SR will do much better for drifting. 400 - 500 HP might be great on the strip, but you would need a turbo that would lag too much for drift. Just remember the motor you choose affects the tuning of the entire car.

Well I met a guy from 240sxforums.com who has a RB20 in his S13 hatch. And this is what ive been told bout the RB20

1. The RB20 weighs roughly 50lbs more than the KA, he said if ur worried bout the weight...pitch the battery to the trunk and youll be bout 20lbs off.
2. Came with same turbo as the S13...T-25
3. Engines realiable, he said hes had it for a lil over 2 yrs and havent had any problems with it. He was planning on stroking the RB20 into a RB24. Cant quite remember the exact specifics...*something bout using RB25 and RB26 parts*
4. Biggest headaches would be the wiring and the custom driveshaft.

Ive ridden in his ride and heres my break down of it. *Stock wit intake, exhaust and still cranking stock boost*
1st gear...35 mph

2nd gear...70mph
3rd gear...100mph
4th gear...125 mph
5th gear...i have no clue since he slowed down when i saw 125.

From my opinion the RB20 is alot smoother than the SR20 *inline 6 is alot more balanced than a 4* power is given to u in a more linear feeling than the SR20. Only down side is not as much after market support as the SR20. From what ive heard it got jes as much support as the CA18.
