RB25DETT vs SR20DET
RB25DETT vs SR20DET
I've been looking at getting a 240 and swapping the engine out, but I'm just wondering as to which would be better. Obviously the Skyline motor is going to be more expensive, but would it be more expensive/harder to install? What about reliability? Tunability? etc, etc. I probably wouldn't do the install, as I don't have the space. What are the upsides and downsides of each engine?
skyline better, heavier, more expensive, reliability you can go either way, tunability depends what you're tuning for, etc. etc. you're probably going to get flamed for this thread and people will tell you to keep reading and researching. but to sum it up~ RB heavier, faster, more expensive. SR not as heavy, cheaper to mod and can still be stupid fast.
People love to be jerks and flame the newbie. I've come to expect it. I've looked, but I didn't find a direct comparison of the 2, so everyone else can suck my ****. Thanks for not being one.
Well the reason there is no comparison between the two is for the sole fact that they are in to way different catagories.
You can answer your questions with common sense.
RB- 6 cylinders
SR- 4 cylinders
both are turbo both are great in there own right.
You said your self that RB is going to be more expensive, then you ask if the install would be more.
What do you think?
If you want better, go RB the internals are way stronger, two turbos better than one.
For the sake of easy install and parts to find SR they are very common now a day.
Whatever your going to do with the car should tell you what engine to use.
Good luck, dont be mad when you crash.
I went easy on you.

I think I'll probably end up swapping in an S15 and a 6 speed if I can find a good one. I don't plan to build anymore than 400hp for a street car, as this would be my daily driver, and that should hold up alright.
I have a TR6 right now, and I've always been a fan of straight sixes, but it sounds like you can get just as much out of the four cylinder for less money and less effort.

do you really need a side by side comparison? Look up info for both engines and do the comparison yourself, theres tons of info on these forums about either engine, closed
you can call me a jerk all you want I could give two ****s, so suck my ****
