ITS NOT THE TURBOS SIZES THATS THE PROBLEMS ITS THE MATERIALS USED FOR THE WHEELS AND INTERNALS. THE T28 BB IS A UPGRADE FOR THE RB20 BUT IT IS SIGINIFICANTLY WEAKER THAN THE RB20'S STOCK TURBO.

one more! Yes I know they don't come like that stock but I think this is the best upgrade you can do instead of a RB20. I would rather go with a SR20dett

i hear ya, but i think it's more of an aesthetic mod. if u notice, the majority of huge power producing setups are single turbo (including RB26's and 2JZ's). there was a thread here not too long ago w/a large discussion about TT applications, whether or not a TT'd I4 would be practical, and ways of implementing them. TT's don't always mean more power...

EDIT: this is in reply to TORONTO

Well Im glad someone understands. Like I said the SR20dett is my weapon of choice. Yes a twin turbo doesn't always mean much more power althoe the majority of the time it usualy gives you more power. It also looks good and sounds great especialy with blow off valves.

Fact is a 2.0L inline 4 will do a very ****ty job of spooling 2 turbos. I mean you could go ahead and put two really small turbos on it and you'll be around the same HP as a decent sized single, but with about 5-6K$ more into it. A TT SR20 is nothing but show, if you are building it to go fast, you need to go learn more about turbo setups and motors.

AN ENGINE SPOOLING A TURBO ON TWO PULSES NO MATTER HOW BIG WILL ALWAYS BE OUT PERFORMED BY A MOTOR SPOOLING A TURBO WITH 3 PULSES.

Thank you Sil...

back to Toronto for jumping the gun and not reading closely HA.

Back to this twin turbo business, made me think of an oft-heard saying:

"The more parts there is, the more chances there are of something breaking."

It's hard enough for some people to keep a single turbo engine tuned correctly, let alone doubling the variables with a twin turbo setup. Also, why would many aftermarket companies and tuner shops offer a "twin to single turbo UPGRADE"? Key word: upgrade. Greddy, HKS, Apexi, Blitz I think, etc.

Then I read ProjectRB's post, and this comes to mind:

"No replacement for displacement." Sure it's attached to the domestic big-block crowd, but it is true you know.

If you're really pimp you'd get 4 of the smallest turbo's available, put one on each exhaust port, and tune the sucker QUAD-TURBO.

and why would aftermarket cams cost so much? i think sr cams go for like 400 bux + shipping. they cant be that much more. i also believe that at 11psi a t28 will make more power than a t25 running at 13 or 14 psi with quicker spool up. that to me equals better turbo.
