SR20DET fuel management and tuning

I don't know if this is in the right section.

Engine management has always been confusing to me, even when I was looking at making my H22 lude turbo'd.

What would you guys recommend for management? Price isn't a problem. I would spend the money if the product is worth it.

There is APEXi S-SFC 2, GReddy emanage, GReddy Profec e-01, and AEM EMS.

Obviously I would have to find a tuner around that knows any of these. But what would you guys think is the best?

ROM tune is the best if the tuner burns the rom at your car from a dyno run.

Enthalpy will get you better results than JWT, but any competent tuner should be able to get you more out of a standalone or even a good piggyback.

That is NOT a dis on Enthalpy. He knows his stuff inside and out, and a good tuner is hard to find. If you throw an emanage at some fool that doesn't understand things, he may get you lesser results.

The way I see it is..If you are not going all out Hardcore status (IE. 700cc Injectors, Z32 MAFS, Big *** turbo...blah blah blah) you're best off using a standalone system.

Cheaper that way too..

Even with a tuned ECU, a good tuner should be able to show some noticeable gains with a little dyno time.

Say I was going to keep it simple at first and then go with a bigger setup. Would you still recommend ROM Tune?

What is wrong with the piggy back systems?

Do you know of any good tuner in the NE area?

There is an issue of Drag Sport that has ROM tune vs stand alone on the dyno but online it isn't the full story so I dono't know what happens. I might back order it.

it's a waste of money to rom tune 2wice.

If you're planning to go bigger later, then just use standalone for now..ROM tune once you think you're done..and sell all the standalone managers.

it's what I'm doing at the moment.

but hey, this is just my 2cents.

So you are saying use ROM tune no matter if I go big or small set up?

Because a few posts up you said if I am not going hardcore then get standalone. Am I reading it wrong

If I was going to go 300whp or under, what would you recommend?

If I was going to go above 300 and maybe to 500whp, what would you recommend?

I think, and tell me if this is good or not, if I was going to stay under 300 then I would keep the stock MAFS and injectors and get one of the systems mentioned above. If I wanted more then 300, I would get Z32 MAFS and maybe 720cc injectors with ROM tune.
