Just so you know ahead of time I know nothing about this swap and what it takes!!!

I am curiouse what is needed for swaping a s15 sr20det into my 240sx. Am I going to need the engine, wiring, harness, transmission, ecu? well thanks, like I said I dont know much about this cause Im an mr2 tech guy and 240's are new to me.

 

A whole front clip, possibly rear subframe. And lots of headaches from the wiring.

 

if'n i was you id get a clip from the same vintage as your car for 2 reasons

1)like hyjynx says the wiring may kill you

2) cost for the extra cost you could upgrade intercooler or turbo or any number of things to make up the difference...plus the cam follower set up was switched in the s15 and the switch was not favored by most enthusiasts

for good measure my s13 redtop clip cost 2500 don't know what you're looking at paying but it's more than that im sure

 

as of now, I am looking for any sr20 to go into my car....the only reason i was heading toward the s15 was because I like the six speed trans. but I figure that i could live without that if it makes my life cheaper and easier for the swap.....are the red-tops better than the s13 black-top? and was your $2500 for a front clip?

yes it was a clip...black top have same hp but are from 92-94 vintage cars so they are more$$$
