Swap from Ka24e to DE???
I just got a lucky deal where a friend of mine is getting interior and misc. parts off a totaled running 240, he has a 240 with the Sr20det. He will most likely sell me the ka24de for under 100 bucks with wirring harness and computer and possibly transmission. what i need to know is, I have a 1990 240 fastback with the ka24e, i want badly the de without getting rid of this car which has come to be perfect. So, will MY transmission be sufficient for the DE and will it be an easy fit/drop as far as mounts and connections? Thanks

Get the MAFS, wiring harness to the computer, the tube that goes over the top of the radiator, and the coil with it's part of the harness. I have a DE and a E side by side here in the shop they look like the same tranny.

Its good the tranny will go together, also, will my distributor cap fit on the ka24de cuz i think it might be just slightly damaged, i doubt it though. It started up today which is a good sign and we're going to do a compression test before anything else, soon as he's done gutting what he wants, its all mine to take stuff. I have one dilema, the intake is destroyed mostly, and my cold air is one of those obx pieces of crap that dont have the right nipples and such, so mine is jimmyrigged as it is, and this one looks like its going to require more, should i just drill into it?
