Thumbs down sounds crazy, i wouldn't do it but, i really don't care

Go right ahead buddy, knock your self out, see how many people rank on you after doing this monstrousity of a project. sorry to be mean, but thats just the way i feel when it comes to swapping out an import engine for a domestic one. i wouldn't do it but, hey, then again, i could give 3 $hits, go right a head man. anyways, need advice on the best 240 to use? use any 95 to 98 240, they've got more room in the engine bay. Good luck. ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.

I am with DCTperformance on this one. It is cool and all with the V8 but why not just go out and get a crapero or a rustang if you want a v8...Put in like a RB25 in there or something. But if you most I would put it in a s14, that is what Aries (I think that is his name) did with his v8 and 240. A v8 in a 240 would be fun to drive, if you could keep it on the road

There is already a 240sx riding around with a LT1. He is putting out 385 RWHP & 390 FTLBS of torque.

I would love to see it run. That would be a great drag car.

I'm guessing the only reason for doing this swap would be for a MUCH greater power to weight ratio and better handling. If this is what you want then I suggest in investing in a pontiac fiero. A guy in Chicago has an engine swap kit at www.v8archie.com. Considering it's a GM you don't have to do all that pain in the *** custom **** like you would with the 240sx.

Pic of Chevy TPI 350 being installed

The Chevy V8 swap is pretty straight foward my kits are complete and easy to install, less work than a fiero swap by far.
I have done a lot of one off v8 swaps and the 240sx is pretty easy to do no cutting, welding, hammerng and that good stuff

I'm with everyone else. If you want a V-8 stick with Chevy or Ford, don't drag a Nissan down. 400Hp out of a V-8 is pretty sad actually when a RB25 can hit over that with almost no work and you can get the puny SR20 to hit over that with some work involved.

KEEP NISSAN, NISSAN. If you like V-8 swaps, go de-virginize other cars like POS hondas.

actually thats completely FALSE
v-8 fiero conversions are easier.... all the STOCK fiero parts will bolt directly up to the v-8... kinda like how an rb** will bolt directly into a 240

but i can pretty much tell you without even looking at the kit itself that next to none of the 240 stock parts will bolt directly to the v-8... without conversion parts i mean

V8 240sx swap vs Fiero V8

This is for the nay sayer.... without any doubt my V8 240sx swap
is a lot faster and easier than a V8 Fiero swap. That is one of the reasons why I chose the Nissan 240sx... because it's a lot less work fabricating this and that...removing the rear half of the car taking the motor off the cradle.... getting special starters ..flexplates...waterpumps that don't stick out in the wheel well.... a little bit too much work!!! I may still do a Fiero swap later, when I have more time. My 240sx V8 swap can be done in about two or three days tops, from start to finish.
The 240sx looks better anyway, plus has more interior room and there are lots of aftermarket parts for Nissans... bodykits, wings, interior mods, suspension upgrades and the list goes on and on!!!!

there are also benefits to doing this swap tho...The rb and sr motors are turbo, and therefore u have turbo lag. The max torque will probably be at alot lower rpms then the rb or sr motors. I personally wouldnt do this swap just because i love nissans, i LOVE JDM!! If I was going for that kind of power i would still go with an rb, but the small block does have some advantages.

What about the tranny, did you use a chevy six, or stayed with the nissan......god i hope you chose the chevy tranny....
If you have the nissan tranny, then have you done anything to make it stronger??
And for all you that hate the swap, its the only one i can do. To explain..I live in Texas, and In the great state of Texas we do car inspection using the OBDII system, which anyone with an RB/SR motor knows is lost in the conversion. The American made LS1/LS6/LT1 on the other hand have the OBDII, and will pass inspection with no problem. So get off his butt about the swap, because for some people its the only legall one...
Way to go V8-240SX!!! I hope to have an LS1 in my 240 soon to.
Any help would be very appreciated

Cool idea dude...but if i was you i would get a 1988 Ford Mustang 5.0 because they can dish out some xtreme power and speed...and make sure you get the same transmission and rear en that that particular year uses. (if at all possible)
