Also sit with a friend or post up what parameters your gauges should be at when the car is under normal and labored conditions.

I have known guys that get gauges and have no clue what they do. You can also get the type with audible or lighted alarms.

Yeah turbo timers are pretty useless, but for those of us with $100 bucks burning a hole in our pockets they're worth it. I really like the auto count down on these things cause I'm way too lazy to wait around for my turbo to spool down.

About those websites... they're pretty close, just got to watch the years. '94 is the same as redtops, I think '95 wasn't made, and '96-'98 had the different ecu and a bunch of other minor crap. Just buy a blacktop if you want a newer motor though.

Not sure I understand what you are saying here. Are you saying that we should determine these conditions before we buy the gauges by doing research or asking others with similar setups? Or are you saying that we need to get the gauges, hook them up, and then determine normal and labored conditions? I think you are saying the latter of the two, but I just wanted to make sure.

I also know that you want your normal running conditions to have all your needles at the 12-o'clock position. This way you can tell at a quick glance if everything is OK. Alarms would be cool though, as long as you could tell in a pinch what the alarm was for!

Not thinking I will need one since the car is going to be my track-mule!

Latter is correct.

You need to find out what idle temp is and stuff like that.
