wiring for sr swap
wiring for sr swap
how difficult is it to wire up the sr20det engine? like, if i sent my harness in to get it to be plug and play from srswap or phase2motortrend.com, how hard would it be to wire up the the engine?
i've heard people have to take off the dash to do wiring too.
what needs to be wired there? the instrument cluster?
will it be plug and play after i get the completed harness or would i have to do additional cutting/splicing?
thanks for all reply's and comments.

You shouldnt need to do anything, other then plugging them into the right places. And I believe you will have to do some work under the dash, mostly jsut routing the wires and hooking it up to the cluster.
srswap.com has some info, you can use the 240sx cluster. If its a 89-90 the tach wont work. If its a 91+ 240 then the cluster should work perfectly. But you need to switch speed sensors if i remember correctly
go to www.XATRacing.com they did my friends wiring for his SR, for only $150, and its sooo clean, and done in 3 days!
We put an SR20 red top into his 95 240sx!
Also with the sensors, the way they wired it, he has NO speed gov, and a 7200 rev limit!
the speed sensor is the only sensor that has a 10mm bolt holding it in the trans, back of the trans, we put the KA speed sensor in the SR trans, cause the guy who wired it said thats what he does!
