Here's the deal. 3 weeks....I guess almost a month ago my KA24 sohc blew a head gasket. Don't know what caused it just coolant started to go into the oil but wasn't hot didn't leak anywhere. Anyway I have a KA24DE sitting in the shop that got traded in on a SR20 clip for $300(engine, trans, harness, ecu, MAFS. I want to put in a RB20DET swap but it's about a month out, and I'm driving a crappy smoking 86 Toyota Tercel
Let is sit or get it going?

I suppose your right, at least that way I can take my time and get together all the parts for the RB swap-clutch, timing belt(or chain?), water pump, and probably a turbo upgrade. The RB engines I guess have a ceramic turbo that can blow up turbine wheels, so I'm considering a GT35 Garrett unit. The Turdcel sucks except for the gas mileage and smokes really bad because it's valve guide seals are long gone.
Thanks, Ryan

I would get it going, put in that KA24DE. And later on down the road, swap in the RB20. My 2 cents

We'll the DOHC KA is going in.....yeah. Better than a Tercel anyway
I think I'm going to drain the oil from the E and brick it just for kicks. It has a BHG and terrible valve train noise, I'll have to pull the hood first tho don't want to have motor parts putting a hole in my Silvia hood
