did you read the instructions at all?

This is a quick overview pic of where I'm at currently. Had some setbacks, but nothing too major. The headlights don't quite line up, since i'm modifying the S13 radiator core support, rather than going with the $300 S15 core support that would need to be welded in. Several conversion I've seen use the existing support, but as you'll see in the following images, there are some definite drawbacks. Below you can see the light midway through being custom fitted. My deadblow hammer makes an amazingly accurate spacer for the light's mounting point

It looks great! Few questions I was hoping to use the Striker Front bumper (visracing.com) instead of the OEM S15 bumber. would it still fit the same? Also those are the OEM S15 headlights correct? They look like the Nismo ones, but the Nismo might be OEM on the S15 so not really to sure. Another biggie is that for lack of welding and hacking skills would it be easier to spend the 300 and get the S15 core support? Thanks.

Exactly the same? No way in hell. There are lots of great kits out there, some that fit really well, but since OEM is the standard why which all others are judged, for a 3rd party product to have equal fitment is a lot to ask... especially from VIS. Personally I think any car that's not going to be track only should have a urethane bumper. Fiberglass is just too fragile for street IMO

"nismo ones"? afaik there are only 2 kinda of S15 lights, standard (what I have) and HIDs. late models had the option of a silver light housing instead of the standard black.

If you don't weld, and have no access to anyone who does, you have no choice but to go through what I did. Using the S15 core REQUIRES the old one to be cut out, and the S15 one custom welded in. It's not a bolt-on replacement, and requires every bit as much precision as my method, or nothing will line up right.

This is ptryy much the same as putting a S14 front end on a 89 then correct?. My buddy my be interested, and i have all the S14 parts needed(headlights, fenders, hood, bumper, but no core support) so he will need to do what you did custom the core support?

He will need conversion fenders, or he will have to have someone mate his '89's fenders to the s14's fenders. Core support will make it go alot smoother as well.

Fitment? I'd have to say custom welded fenders.
Best fit/quality for fiberglass? Just Masa... they just sorta sit there at the top, everyone else is a grade below or lower... mostly lower.

EVERY "Kit" i've seen, is just a mash-up of the all the cheapest parts. Minus key things like hardware, spacing washers, hinges, sidemarkers, etc.

Ask Sam over at Jspec.com about the S14 lips, i bet he can help you.

Just as well tho, with the weather getting better, I'll be painting again, and putting up more pix and web updates starting next week

Also, at this point lots of people have emulated what I've done to varying degrees so I'll be posting some of the pix people have sent of their cars and appropriate shout-outs and homage where it's due!
If you're one of these ppl, feel free to send me your pix and story, description to: ride-submission@360realms.com
