240 died i need help

So i was driving up a hill today in 3rd gear,When all the sudden i heard a clunk. My car started shaking and struggling up the hill,so i shifted into 2nd gear and still wasent picking up.I eventually came to a stop put it in first, and tried going the engine reves and moves alittle but then stalls as it seems it doesent want to move. The engine sounds like a go cart and shakes alot, and it sounds like the engine is struggling really hard to stay running like a belt tightened up super tight or someting.Any suggestions the car still starts, rough i may add but deff not driveable.Someone told me it could be my clutch as it was on its way already. So any suggestions, thanks alot.

the condition of your clutch shouldnt make your engine run like that.

start with basics:
fuel spark compression

i have a hunch... check timing chain, might have jumped teeth

I'm sure its not the clutch that went on you. A car will still start and idle fine with a faulty clutch.

After the clunk noise, are there any other consistant noises when the car is idling.

ya when its idling it still makes the same noise. Its just a real loud noise and is constant.Once again it sounds like a go cart.Hope that helps.
