B&M install question

I've been searching on how to install the B&M short shifter on a s14, and most people say you need to drop the transmition to get to the front bolts. Has anyone been able to reach the fron two bolts from inside the car? If it's not possible, what is needed to be done to drop the tranny? Thanks

It is possible, my friend Charles did it without dropping the tranny. Anything other than that I can't say.

some people drill a couple of holes dircetly above the bolts in question and use a socket from there... but then that leaves you with two more holes to plug afterward (then again, it's hidden once you reinstall the interior pieces, so you can tape the holes up or something)... but everyone I talked to who has the B&M said it's possible without fropping the tranny... small tools and small hands or something like that...
