Hi everyone im new to this board and im also looking to buy a 240sx 95-98 year model... but ne way my question is does anyone have any suggestions on the best year/model to buy as far as the best to mod? eg: 95 se or 97 Le and what should i look for cause i know ive heard that some models with 5 wheel lugs have something or the other special about it.

95, a.k.a. Zenki. (no OBD II) You want an SE model w/LSD and 5 lugs. Also check out Ghettostamp's thread:

question though.. whats the engine name in the 95 se KA??? something
and do some 93 down models have the same engine
anyone have an opinion on which is a better generation
93 down or 95 up 94 seams odd when i look for performance parts as in not many ???

earlier models have a SOHC, i think it was 89-91 I want to to say but i always forget the year. Anything after that came with DOHC which is better, the 95 engine code and all dual over head cams is the KA24de.
The reason you don't see any performance parts for the 94 is because it was strictly sold as a convertable with an auto tranny. Which is just, well...very stinky. vert's have a loss in rigidity and the auto tranny, well....
There is also a 97 and up which is the kouki and looks the same as the 95 (zenki) except for the agressive projector headlights, but again personal preferance, me thinks it looks a bit flat-nosed. Same engine.
Depending on your cash flow get whatever you can afford, you won't be disappointed, anything 91 and up gets my vote.
