brake light problem

brake light problem
my friend has a 92 hatch and besides typical s13 problems, cracked dash and speedo doesnt work, the brakelights stay on all the time even when off the brakes. what could the problem be? im guessing its something simple but i thought id ask you guys.

At the top of the brake pedal, there is a switch. Odds are this switch is broken/jammed. remove it and clean the gunk from around it and it will work. If not just replace it.
