Angry brake lights

I went outside tonight at about 3:30am, and my brake lights were on. My headlights are off, no lights on at all, except for the brake lights!

What's going on here?

I had to pull off all the wire clips so my battery didn't drain!

I have a 90 hatchback 240!

I have not messed with wiring, except for the headlight, blinker, and side lights when doing the silvia conversion!

could it be a time controller unit or something like that?

I heard from a friend, oversteer180, the the timer controller, will messup, and a lot of stuff goes haywire! could that be the trouble-maker?

no... thats not the problem most of the time... had any plastic manifest on the floor under the pedals? I had the same problem with mine, and ive seen others here that had this happen. The cause is the rubber/plastic stopper that actuates the switch becomes brittle and shatters, leaving the brake light switch open, which leaves the lights on. Go to the nissan dealership, tell them you need the little rubber stopper for the brake pedal where it moves the switch, theyll charge you $.92 for it, pop it in, and enjoy.... its neon green clear rubber too... lawls

I looked at my brake pedal tonight, and where that switch is, there is a hole, that is about 1/4" wide, is that where the bumpstop is?

I found a little black plastic peice that looks like it would fit there, but is damaged, not cracked, looks like it had a knife cutting it!
