Breaking down the basics HP and Torque, Whats Your Debate?
On my F1 engine point, I was refering to numbers being deceiving rather than why F1 cars are fast. Put an F1 engine in our car, its still going to be fast without a high tq number because of the power band. The higher up in RPM your power band is, inevitably your tq figure will be lower because of the equation. Its all about having the broadest power band you can with the most power. Tq is great to look at as long as you put it in perspective with the rpm band you are looking at. A car that has power from 2k-5k is going to have a significantly higher tq numbers than a car making the same hp from 7k-10k. Keep them both in threre power band and they will both be about the same
