alright, i know it's better to drift with SR20's because they have more Top End. But, since you guys are more familiar with the KA24, is it really any different when it comes to drifting?sorry if i sound kinda stupid, but, hey, i dont know these things.

 

the KA wont last as long as SR because of the always-high RPMs*

*- unless you built the KA right. - installin the right pistons, rods, cams... etc

 

what if i turbo'd it....with that boost designs stuff....would that help it?...or do i really have to tune the engine better?

 

my n/a ka24e works just fine, its not all the motor its alot of the driver but if you dont have any experince i would just go with the ka until you learn your boundries. the only way id probabley buy an sr is 1) someone else bought it/won the lottery 2) i was good enough to be in pro comps. you gettin the idea, i thought about turboing mine but it would cost about the sam as an sr to have a reliable setup, but i guess its all personal opinon, good luck what ever you choose.

 

learn to drift with what you have before you start doing the "parts > skill" thing first. I know people who can pull some mighty drifts with SR's, KA-T's.. hell even NA KA24E motors. Power isn't the whole picture dude.

 

yeah, i know power really has nothing to do with it. its all about shifting weight and keeping it angled for as long as you want. but yeah, i guess i just dont know too much about the KA

 

you've never actually drifted a car before have you?

 

it would be a shame not having done so here in japan...but real drifting has a lot to do with keeping the car at about redline...the tires spin more from there with turbo's because it's bast 4000rpm, which is where the boost really kicks in for SR's and i belive most single turbo cars...

 

but i dont really care much about drifting as a style type sport, i'm more into the touge thing here, where drifting is used for hairpins to get by faster

 

um... a lot to learn for this guy...

KA = torque in low to mid end.

 

like it was said before... learn it first with what you got then put the money into it to get better plus without the right suspension setup it doesnt matter what you got under the hood
