EMS or Bottom End??

I want to get a few opinions on this matter. I have already talked to a few people about this subject.

I will be purchasing all the items for my engine rebuild for my SR20DET tomorrow or wednesday. I have a total project budget of $5K. I am trying to decide between either rebuilding the bottom end of the motor or getting the AEM Stand Alone System. I will be purchasing everything to rebuild the top end and replace oil pump, water pump and oil pan. I could get the FIC and still rebuild the bottom end. I have just heard that stand alone is way better and should just invest in it now.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If you have a budget of $5k i would say do a v8 swap
but seriously... one thing to consider is that stand alones are only as good as the people who can tune them. And people who can tune AEM ems are few and far between.

Is the FIC even applicable for the S13 SR? I will need some kind of fuel management system for my setup. I am getting bigger injectors, have a bigger turbo, cams, ect...

if the injectors are 550 or under get an SAFC. It'll keep you safe until you can get a stand-alone or piggyback.

I actually decided to buy the EMS. I am going to save up for a stroker kit bottom end rebuild.

Yeah, I am most likely going to get it. Gonna abandon the roll cage for now and buy a few things that I need more.

Yeah, I know. I cant compete without a roll cage so I will have to install one before the competitions.
