EXTREMELY terrible gas mileage

Ok I dont know what is going on but I just started to get terrible gas mileage. I have driven about 75 miles and my gas hand went from full to 1/4. I could almost literally watch the gas hand going down. And this is with smooth driving (auto) not gunnin it or anything. I had a mechanic look for a leak somewhere and there was none to be found. its just really bad with gas prices the way there going. Anybody have some ideas to why its doing this?

same with me, also auto, and yes i had a recent tune up..

i figured it was just semi-normal..

i have no idea what it can be either, i have a new engine (off an S14) and it did it even with my old engine (93), my car smells nothing like gas, and my gas gauge fills up relative to how much i put in it, so it's not a bad floater...

who knows.

well it could be a O2 sensor, dont think it would make it that bad though.
