Fair price? Knowledgeable users please read.
There is a s13 240 hatchback for sale locally. It has been wrecked front right(hit tree) and he says there is no frame damage, most of it stops at the end of the battery, but he says the strut tower is bent? (wtf). Also, one of the rear quater pannels is beat up from kids in his neighborhood, and I think he said it needed a front and rear window. He sold the motor and tranny out of the car. It also has apexi n1 coilovers, n1 exhaust subframe spacers, vlsd, intake, rear strut bar, extra optima red top. What would be a fair price with those parts and with out the coilovers? I hope some of the more knowledgeable people on this site can post on this one. Thanks

Car sounds trashed to me, especially if the shock tower is bent. The shock tower is what the shock/spring assembly bolts to, inside the wheel well. If that's bent, the structural integrity of the car is destroyed.
I'd suggest not buying the car at all, and maybe see about buying the parts from him, and finding another 240sx.

Kinematics ... did you read the post?
He was asking what a resonable price is for the mods, exlucding the coilovers. He never said he wanted to buy the car.
Intake should be <80
VLSD would be a nice part, depends on mileage/beatings
Strut tower bar should be <70
not sure about the rest, go low, you can always go up, but not down.

I shouldn't hop on the forums first thing in the morning, apparantly.
It depends on how many miles are on the VLSD to determine a price, really. I'd start at 50 bucks.
Everything else, I'd say around 300-350 total without coilovers.
What Cape 240 said, you can always negotiate up, but harder to negotiate down.

i does sound pretty beat, but if there is no frame damage... you could probably fix it if you're going to buy the car...
Cape's numbers are good, imo you should bargain down when buying the actual car... and when selling the parts, start high and bargain down

Thanks for the replys. I was actually looking at buying the whole car. It would be a project since I have a reliable daily already. He was thinking something around $750 for the whole shebang. The accident occured at 15mph but there was a ditch before the tree he hit. He says its bent only a little bit. His friend already bought the motor out of it so that part of the work is done. Unless that creates problems when putting a new motor in. (built or stock KA24DE). Thanks again guys.

^it may... depending on what exactly he took out, and how careful he did it. I think 750 is a little high for a crashed car with no engine though... unless everything else is in near perfect condition make sure there isnt any serious damage in the underbody... bring another person to look too, sometimes you miss things

Yea thats what i was planning on doing. My friend im taking with me has a modded altima, its pretty sick considering he did all the work himself. Hopefully I can look at it this weekend. Ill shoot some pics too

I wouldn't get him anything more than $400.00. Start your negotiations at $250. If by chance he still want's to work it up past $400, laugh at him and tell him you were doing him a favor.

Man vinnie why do you have to have pics of an s13 coupe in your sig. I love those things so dang much. Yea, so $250 with all those parts on it? Or if he has stock parts to put back on the car? Thanks

I wouldn't bother!!!!!!!!! If it were worth the effort fixing, he would not have pulled the engine! He already had too much money and time into it. If it weren't F_cked he would have fixed it himself instead of scrapping it. Do the same, scrap it from your want list.
Where ya located? I know of 240's for next to free in midwest
