good buy?

Well i finally sold my bmw 325i($$ hole), and I found this 95 240 somewhat close to me:

Price $3,995
Mileage 160,000
Exterior Color BLACK
Interior Color Charcoal
Body Style Coupe
Doors Two Door
Engine 4 Cylinder Gasoline
Trans. 5 Speed Manual
Stereo AM/FM Compact Disc Playr
Fuel Type Gasoline
Drive Type 2 wheel drive - rear

Talked to the guy on the phone, he said there is a *small* spot of rust behind the gas door, other than that the exterior and interior are mint. It is not an SE. It is 4 lug w/ hubcaps(yuck). He also said mechanically there is nothing wrong with it.

It is about 100 miles from me, so I would like to go to look at it with intent to buy, or not go look at all. How does that price sound? I know I have seen ones like this for much higher, so I assume that it is a pretty good deal, even with 160k.

Thanks

Sounds like a good deal to me. Maybe you can get it for even cheaper.

Yea I didnt even bring up the price, but im pretty sure I can get him down a little bit more. Blue book for a dealer is $4970 haha, so I am already getting a deal.

Ill just call him up and offer him $3500 cash, see what he says

sounds kinda expensive... but that's me. i got a 95 240 with 127,000 for 3800, paid 400 shipping, i think i got an awesome deal because there is NO rust (besides fro ma dent in the hood), EXCELLENT interior/exterior besides a few LITTLE dings.

you should try to talk hmi down, there are a lot of miles on that

BTW: hubcaps are HOT

actually miles dont matter.
got my S13 with 220000 miles for $1000.

the engine was taken care of BIG TIME. i mean.. no oil leaks, no smoke, no power loss due to high mileage. pulls just like my brothers S14 with 96000 miles

but check the engine and all that junk under the hood. (did i sound stupid? lol) and yeah.. the price is a bit too high.

Dude if it is in lansing then watch it....I seen the car and it has rusted fenders and the spot behind the gas cap is the size of a baseball.....Now the fenders are not rusted all the way through but it looks like someone did a shi-tty job of bondo to it. I heard him fire it up and had some intial knocking upon startup but it did go away. If you buy it I would not pay more than 1800.00 with the body tore up and possible engine problems later down the road. Ohh and the paint is faded on the back bumper tooo all splotchy looking.

Just a heads up man
He has a badass supra in the lot too and he wants 30k for it! lol.

www.edmunds.com is another good one.

seems like a lot of people offer the trade-in value when selling vehicles (from my experience selling)
