Help with EGR

hey guys
i have an 89 240sx that is throwing code 32, which is egr function (cali cars only)

well, i have traced down the problem, but now i cant find the part to fix it. i think that it is because it is a cali car.

ok i figured it out, it is the air induction or injection valve. but its still ****ed. where the hell is the egr??

The EGR is at the rear of the engine, and wraps around to the back of the intake. If i remember right, the valve is right behind the motor. That was on the KA24DE though, it might be different for the KA24E.

nope both engines have in the same location. just follow the tube just above the o2 sensor.

i found the egr, and decided not to play with it. anybody know what usually causes code 32??

code 32 is egr related. you should look for bad vacuum lines going to and from the egr and egr solenoid. the lines could be faulty or clogged.

could be the egr temp sensor giving you the bug. i think i had the same code. I just soldered in a resistor to trick the ecu into thinking it's propperly working. 1/4 watt 100kohm resistor from radioshack. i have a picture somewhere if you are interested in doing this, should pass visual inspection fine

we dont have inspection in MI so...

you actually don't even need to solder it in, i just bent the ends over and stuck it in the egr temp sensor plug and wrapped electrical tape over it. it was a two wire harness, one green and one yellow.

not sure how it differs on the sohc
