help idle at 500rpms

help idle at 500rpms

my buddy was messing with my car and said he knew a trick by cleaning the TB and spraying intake cleaner in the manifold. me being stupid i let him do this we start the car and it idles at 500rpm i adjust the idle screw it helps but it wont stay it also sounds like a piston is not hitting. did my friend blow a sensor or somthing else?

did he disconnect any vacuum lines or mess with the tps?

yea i wacthed he took the intake off with those 3 hoses then unscrewed the TB, just unscrewed not unpluged the TPS then that small vac hose on top of the TB and the 2 colant lines O this is a 1990 ka24e

tps is in nuetral (that's the best turm i can think of to describe
it.)
3. tighten the screws on the tps.
4. turn your car on and readjust the idle are screw

i messed with the tps it dosent kill itself now it will stay at 900 then it will race to 2500 like its a cold start it will do this throught the drive also it sounds like im still missing a piston, but i havent lost any power

well i was looking around the engine today and i found half of the TB gasket put a new one in and it runs again but now i have to replace some stuff since the TPS sensor screwhead broke

so the tb was taken off? if so then you probably had an vacum leak as well.

don't worry too much about the tps screw. one screw will hold it in place just fine. that happened to me about two years ago and never fixed it because there hasn't been a problem with it.
