Question help its breaking!!!

i found this conector just doing a look over my engine and it's barely hanging the insulation broke and it goes to a sensor on the side of the engine . its breaking so close to the conector i cant splice it would it be ok to cut the whole conector thing and just splice it with the female/ male conecttion splice thingy ??????

tryed to post picture but failed

its the conector in front of the engine where the coolant hose goes in on the intake manifold, its by the temp sensor on the man this one i talk about runs under the man into the side of the engine

you could try to disconnect it and run your car. see if it'll start and run or if it throws a code or a gauge doesn't work to find out what it is or if it's needed.

i could try that. but if it's a conector can i just replace it for a splicing device i mean like put male and female end on the wires so i can disconect in case of removal of other parts?

You might be able to remove the pins and solder new wires to them. The pins will probably have a little catch on them that you can move with a small probing tool and pull the pin out the back of the connector.

Either that or go to a junkyard and cut one off another car.

i looked up the service manual and it looks like the detonation sensor, i disconected it and drove and the only thing i noticed was after over 3k aceleration for a while it goes down to 400rpm's and then starts to idle. i just don't like anything to happen to my baby.
