NO not a typo.
The predecesor of KA is the NAPS-z block.
NAPSZ and KA look like almost idential cast iron blocks accept for that the inlet to the coolant passages is on the left, instead of the right. KA heads, and transmissions bolt right up.
It's much easier using a NAPSz 2.0, 0r 2.2litre blocks than dropping sleeves into a cast iron KA block.
I just want a 2.2 liter to get more high rev and keep a good amount of torque when boosted.
Awsome engine that utilized the L20B stroker crank too.
the engines are called z20s and the z22s found in the 1981-1983 USDM 200sx. NAPSZ heads are crap though I'll probably just scrap it.

why not register it as you are trying to do, and take it to the referee with a ka in it, including all proper emissions equip?

Once you are legally registered, swap the sr and you will be in the same boat as everyone else who has a swapped sr (not quite legal, but not nearly as likely to get in trouble for it)

I know this is "illegal" but i think this is the ONLY way !! I get myself a KA24de (91 to match) engine, US Spec 240sx car to use its VIN (Firewall, doors, and dash board).
Pretty much making US SPec 240sx with RHD conversion. According to the DMV reps, it is NOT illegal to have RHD cars (thanks GOD, somethin is acceptable in this State).

I have to give up my sr20 engine !!

PICS will be up in 2 hours !! Thanks

When you swap in the KA you will want to look out for clearance issues with the alternator to the RHD steering rack. In this case you will want a KA24de with no A/C so that you can move the alternator over if you have this problem. The KA intake mani may also get in the way of the brake cylinder, and master clutch cylinder. Not shure cause I've never delt with RHD.

instead of doing it VERY ILLEGALY why not just take the rhd conversion on your car, and the sr20 and everything else, and put it on an american 240.

That way you can smog the american 240 before putting all that crap on, AND you don't risk going to jail for swapping vins.
