I clicked on that thing when I ooked at the site. I was going to use it as an example of how beat their cars were.

Sorry, that thing looks like the Japanese version of the Corvette Summer car.

I guess no one understands that it is a federal offense to use an illegal motor on any U.S. public road.

Shiat man I understand fully thats why I stay KA.......
I see European LHD's that are registered to drive in cali, but I don't think there is any chance in hell that an RHD from Japan will ever go legal.
Plain and simple, I called my insurance company, there is no way to insure an RHD on any united states road.
There maybe specialty insurance company's that deal with exotic cars, but if it comes down to a $2500 dollar Silvia I don't think so.
Insurance companies base there claims through DMV records on registered vehicles.
I ain't hatin, realistically it is a waste of time and money.
The only time I ever remember wanting to get RHD is when I was in high school, I am now an adult so whats the point. How much attention whoring are you looking for in RHD anyway most people that understand resale understand that wether it is LHD or RHD it is still only worth $2500. Besides if you have a problem getting ***** all RHD will do is attract the dumbest of the CHICKEN HEADZ.........
If I saw any importance in RHD I would move to Japan where it is legal.........

Here is the penalty for having RHD in Cali.... This Skyline was seized a few months back. This auction states that it is only to be sold for exportation out of the U.S only. If the vehicle cannot be exported, it will void the sale at auction....

Sounds like Motorex should make the purchase to legalize it........ Or some one should buy it at the auction for cheap, and have Motorex legalize it........

Motorex got into some deep **** with what they were doing...

... and then some people expect to figure out a way to legally drive an SR20DET around on their own?

seeing as:

1. in the first post there was a suggestion of doing something HIGHLY ILLEGAL (VIN swapping),

2. the fact that no average Joe can afford paying for the legalization process of a chassis/engine

3. the SR20DET is illegal by FEDERAL LAW for use on public roads in the United States

4. Every other week someone new comes on asking the same question, thinking that no one else has thought of trying to legalize an SR20DET in the last 10 years

.. closed. If you want to be a Maverick and say "I drive all the time with my SR20DET" then good for you - driving it daily still doesn't make it legal.
