Isn't the rpm that the ecu goes into limp mode at when something isn't right with the MAF sensor around 2500rpm?
I've never claimed to be a car genius, so don't hold me to that, lol. Just a hunch tho
I did have a problem with my MAF plug coming unplugged at the track tho, and that sounds about like what it was doing. So might check the wiring at the MAF perhaps?
