My S14 is Over heating Occasionaly

Just how the tittle says my car is over heating but it doesn't do it all the time. I have changed the temperature sensor and i thought it worked but the other day the it snowed so i didn't move the car for acouple days and when i drove it that day it started over heating. when it over heats the antifreeze goes back into the tank and doesn't seem to go to the engine so what i do is pump the radiator hoses and wait till i see the antifreeze start going down, once i do that the car will not over heat for the rest of that day.

anybody got any idea what it could be i think the radiator might be cloged but i want someone elses opinon.

change your thermostat, should cost you less than 10 bucks, your going to have to flush the system after you change it, and then bleed the air out of it..... should fix your problems......

I'm thinking it's a bleeding situation... don't forget to bleed using both the bleed screw AND the heater hose (the one with the watercock)

and as we were so reminded... dont forget the radiator cap as well...if it is noe sealing right it will allow water to pass into the overflow tank... but it sounds more like an air in the system problem to me...

flush it... and when you add coolant, please make sure you dont leave an air pocket in the system... it happens almost to everyone, they add coolant and when it reaches the top they put the cap on and then all of the sudden the engine over heats.. well DUH..

so get all the air out.

TIP if your heat (in the car) doesnt work properly (if the air is not as hot as it suppose to be) then you have an air pocket.

can the air pocket cause an antifreeze leak too? from the bottom? because when i ride the car and it starts to over heat and i pull over u can hear bobbles comeing from the antifreeze tank. also when the car is parked for a long time and i move it and check the floor u can see that it leaks antifreeze.

What can be the solution? im kinda broke right now so i really don't want to go out and buy a raiator if it is that. also if it is the radiator is there a way u can just plug up the leak like with JB Weld or something?
