Talking New 240 owner

Hi all, I recently purchased a 97 240sx base model with 23K and immaculate condition for $9700 OTD at the dealership I work for. (I sell hondas ) it was truly grandma's creampuff

anyways the only bad thing about it is that its an auto tranny....

does anyone know if you turbocharge this model, will the auto tranny hold up ok? I know the 5spds are pretty strong.

anyways its good to have a rear wheel drive car.......no more civcs...yay

welcome to the world of RWD. i'm still waiting on my 240 but i'm hoping to be getting it soon. anyways, i think the auto tranny could handle some boost for a little while but you should probably get it rebuild if you are turboing the ka24.

here's an even better solution, do the sr20det swap and use the 5spd tranny that comes with teh engine and have a 5spd turboed car.

those are some good ideas...but i dont want to waste such a new motor with only 23K miles......how around how much would a 5spd tranny and good turbo kit for a KA24 motor run??

dirtyplaya.... My cousin lives in greenville SC, i visit him every so often.... bmw z3 plant right?.... you have some fun roads out there

I've also got an auto... I have been researchin turbo kits for a long time... from what I've see... the F-max stage II turbo kit goes for 5k. As for a tranny swap, I'd say your lookin at anywhere between 1.5-2k. Thats what I've heard, not entirely sure. Good luck with your car man
